2014 Young Air Scientist Awards

Lucy Randel, Board Member, Air Alliance Houston

Air Alliance Houston believes that success in improving Houston’s air quality includes educating ourselves and our community, especially our young people. As we educate our youth, we also hope to mobilize them to take an active part in shaping a future with cleaner air. For over ten years, first as Mothers for Clean Air, and now as Air Alliance Houston, we have been recognizing students at the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston with outstanding projects related to air quality and environmental sustainability. Eighth graders Marco Martinez and Tu Nguyen earned the 2014 grand prize with their self-developed air monitoring experiment. For the first time, the Grand Prize winners will be showcasing their project at Earth Day Houston. Be sure to stop by the AAH tent to take a look!
